recent works/ orders

Just posting works that I did the past months. I do a lot of minor alteration works but i won't post those.

Fisherman's Pants

A email request from an american client. The mannequin doesn't have legs so it may look a bit strange. It's made with dark brown suiting some blue linen & grey suiting added in for highlights and contrast. He later sent me a photo of him in this pants with dog awwwwwwwwwwww

a highlight of blue at the hips…

the detail from the back
a double adjustable buckle

Shorts for a regular client

its' ex-large (•́ ₃ •̀)

It's quite an adventure taking order from him. He speaks veronese dialect which i barely understand. XD The pattern is a copy of a jeans he had.

Email me juunta@gmail.com for made to measure request. Thanks.

I'm back…

Hello I'm back. It's been ages since I did the last post. What an embarrassing story! orz

I'm trying to change the way I blog so that more posts are created. I don't have a lot time so I need something very minimal and fast. Mostly it'll be focus on my sewing works. I haven't stopped sewing all these years. If i had to pick between sewing and blogging, of course I'd rather sew!

I'm no longer on etsy because there's just too much prep work involved in setting up shop there. I don't receive enough sales to merit the work I put in. A lot of emphasis on photography and trying to create some product range which was very taxing. After much soul searching I feel that should still sew since my love for it hasn't stop. Throw out the parts I didn't like and focus on the part I like is my intention. XD

I do take orders for any of my items (that used to be on etsy) and also made to measure clothes or items. Please contact me on my email address and I will follow up with a quote and how to go about it.

Anime/manga fan

I became an anime & manga fan a few years ago and have not been able to stop. Most people who know me irl don't know of this. A friend even thought that my twitter account was hacked. XD that was super hilarious. My twitter account is my place for anime & manga going-ons. You can follow me there @juunta but be warned if you don't like anime or manga then you will find my retweets/spam unbearable. I'm a fujoshi just so you know (¬ ‿ ¬) ………

I'll leave you with my favourite character of the summer season Kaneki <3 Good night!

fr Tokyo Ghoul ending sequence <3 Kaneki, Yomo & Nishio <3

Fujoshi loves- this is boy's love...

There was a period when it wasn't about manga, anime or boy's love. I haven't changed much (I hope) This is from the 1st year I was in Milano. Still a bit naive. Prior to that I lived all my in life in Singapore. I had only understood things from that perspective. As you it's know it's a small place, plus I lived in a protected environment. Everything nasty was filtered out.

I was talking to a housemate of mine then (the mad one) (there is a whole long story of why he is called the mad but let's not go into that) when the story of how he did it with his cousin (a boy) when he was 12. How we arrived at that topic I can't remember. It was summer at a camping trip, it was dark and they both didn't want to talk about it the day after. I was surprised but not completely. He shook his head and said it was a "mess". My housemate is not gay, I knew that for sure because of the constant stream of girlfriends.

At that point, I had been in Milano less than a year. I didn't know what the culture was like. I had the idea that it was poles apart from Singapore. But just how much different, that was a mystery. I had no other reference, so naturally I thought EVERY boy must have gone thru that! WOW Italians are so liberal I thought. I was naive.

They are different from Singaporeans in some ways but not completely. It was then I was sitting at the kitchen probably eating, I started chatting with my housemate's boyfriend. He was around 26 tall bespectacled (megane kun) milanese. Not my favourite person in the world. Boring guy. A real ji ji ~ old man. Busy crossing Ts and doing everything properly. Mr know it all. But still he was friendly enough.

My housemate was in the shower. I don't know how I approached the subject. My philosophy is if you want to find out something, just ask. If the other party is embarrassed, he won't say anything. So I asked if he had ever tried it with a guy. And he said yes. I went: what? really?! Really unexpected. He wasn't ashamed of it or anything. He said it was part of the growing process. It was also around 12 or 13, & it was with a friend. And no he is definitely not gay. He didn't consider it as sex. I think that was pretty amazing don't you think. If mr nerdy can do it, then I think it's more common than you think. I respect the Italian's attitude towards sex. It's so organic. I'm sure this is only 1 version & more version out there.

I think it is a privilege of an older person to be able to ask absurd questions and get replies... XD

Summer 2012 update - new pieces for the wardrobe 2

This dress is another dress I made. A retro look based on the 50's housewife look XDD. Very comfortable & great for a hot weather. I love the retro look & used to do many outfits in this style. This cutting is a loose cut & tie at the waist. Lately I've been on some Japanese online shop. Obviously too expensive & unaffordable. Also the form/ cutting & asthetics is completely different from the italian ones; ie the have loose cutting & easy going cut, great for everyday wear. I will be making more pieces like that some looking very street & some very feminine.

there is side slit, although it's not very clear here.

Summer 2012 update - new pieces for the wardrobe

This a halter neck dress made with linen. I was inspired by the men's kimono as depicted in the manga. Mind you not the real kimono, the 2D version worn by my favourite BL characters. While the female version is very formal & difficult on the body as binds the wearer up, the guy version on manga is a whole lot sexier. I've taken all the nice elements & made it into a very wearable dress. I normally wear this with a long sleeved t shirt underneath.

Spring 2012 update: Juunta's made to measure 2

This is another made to measure order for medieval pants/tights Braghe. All the materials are provided by my client. Fabric used: Wool felt. It is a costume made for enactment of medieval battles worn together with the Farsetto (medieval jacket) in suits of armour and all the weaponary. ^__^

The ribbons are for placement only. Laces with bronze tips are used instead.

The belt is inserted inside with the fastening in front like a normal belt.

This was pattern has a bias cut for stretch purposes. This is not as difficult as the Medieval jacket- Farsetto I made last year, as it is mostly machine sewn.
